Freight Policy


Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all shipments are F.O.B. shipping Point. will determine the point of origin of shipment, the method of transportation, and the routing of shipment. All freight charges are the sole responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers requesting shipment by a method other than that of The Poly-Tank Mart’s selection will be billed for any additional charges incurred., when possible, will attempt to make shipments by the routing requested by the purchaser, but makes no guarantee. All added service fees will be charged to the customer. (i.e. residential, lift-gate, re-consignment.) It is the consumer's responsibility to inform us prior to delivery if the location for delivered cannot accept a 53’ trailer delivery vehicle. Deliveries that cannot be made due to vehicle size or access restriction will be billed as delivered. If a delivery is possible with another vehicle, re-delivery will be made and an additional delivery fee will be charged. If you need any added services please call us and we will do our best to add these at our prices so you are not charged at the carrier's public rates. The purchaser is responsible for unloading merchandise from truck. Freight companies do not assist in unloading merchandise from truck. Extra charges may be incurred if the delivery driver assists in any way. The receiver is responsible for unloading all all merchandise. Trucking companies allow a limited amount of time to offload your product. If that time is exceeded, you will be assessed additional charges for waiting time.

Truck Access Requirements

Trucks up to 65’ in length may deliver your merchandise. In most cases they cannot enter private driveways or roads, as there is insufficient room to maneuver and turn around. When this is the case, prior arrangements must be made to deliver your order to a predetermined location, preferably the nearest public road access to the original destination address.

Commercial vs. Non-Commercial Address

By classifying your address type correctly we are able to keep costs down on your order. If services are added at delivery due to an error in classification of shipping location these services will be charged at a higher rate by the freight carrier.

  • Loading dock (though the dock is not required)


  • Limited access or Non-commercial fees are imposed by carriers based on the amount of difficulty involved with delivery
  • Limited access locations include: construction sites, fairs and carnivals, military bases, mine sites, prisons, schools & universities, churches, storage facilities, piers, airports, farm and ranches, campgrounds, zoos, government facilities, hotels/motels or resorts, hospitals, doctor offices
  • Restricted Access fees imposed on any location where a security check of carrier personnel, equipment or cargo is administered before or after delivery
  • Residential addresses, apartments or any business operated from a private dwelling

Purchaser must inspect all shipments before signing clear on delivery receipt. The act of signing for delivery is the acceptance that your tank has arrived undamaged. The person who signs the Proof of Delivery (POD) when tanks are delivered MUST note any visible damage on the POD. Our tanks leave our vendors in good condition. Once they are turned over to the carrier, damage can occur. If there is no notation of damage on the signed POD, the purchaser has accepted that the tank has arrived, has been inspected and is in good condition. It is important that purchasers thoroughly look over the tanks for damage. If there is damage to the tank itself it is often best refuse the tank & the carrier will be responsible for returning the tank to the manufacturer.

Often, damage is often done to a piece that can easily be replaced. If you have any questions regarding the condition of the tank please contact The Poly-Tank Mart while the driver is there before you sign the delivery receipt and we gladly help you with a resolution. Cosmetic and surface scuffs and scrapes can happen in transit. These do not constitute damage and will not impact the product's structural integrity or void your warranty. Please take picture and contact The Poly-Tank Mart immediately upon discovery for evaluation and proper resolution. You DO NOT have to accept the tank if you have any questions regarding the condition of the tank. Please refuse the tank or note damage on the delivery receipt and contact The Poly-Tank Mart immediately at (877) 353-TANK. Tanks may become soiled in transit. Dirty tanks do not constitute damage and damage claims will be refused.

It is the purchaser’s responsibility to notify The Poly-Tank Mart of all damages. We value our customers and will do everything in our power to resolve the issues in a timely manner as long as the damage is noted at the time of delivery. We will not accept responsibility for damage if the receiver of the tank does not note damage. At this point you will accept all responsibility for the tank and can file a claim directly with the carrier for the damage. The Poly-Tank Mart will not be liable for failure to perform or for delay in performance due to fire, flood, strike, or other labor difficulty, acts of God, act of any governmental authority or of the purchaser, riot, embargo, car shortage, wrecks or delay in transportation, inability to obtain necessary labor, materials or manufacturing facilities from usual sources or due to any other cause beyond its reasonable control. In the event of delay in performance due to any such cause, the date of delivery will be postponed by such length of time as may be reasonably necessary to compensate for the delay.

Transit Times

Once your tank is ready for shipment the carrier will be contacted for pick up. Transit times are estimates only and do not include day of pickup. Pickup dates are not guaranteed. Pickup day is not included in the calculation of LTL transit time. The customer is liable for all charges related to the shipment. You will be provided with a tracking number to follow the status of your shipment. Shipping dates are approximate and are based on prompt receipt of all necessary information and approvals from the purchaser. shall not be liable for failure to perform or delay in performance due to cause beyond its reasonable control including but not limited to acts of God, wrecks or delay in transportation or act of any governmental authority.
